Tonight in LA!

posted by High Voltage Staff | Wednesday, February 27, 2008 | 6:23 PM
This week is a huge week musically in Los Angeles. Tonight alone has some great choices and you should all head down to The Troubadour to see Stellastarr*! And then afterwards head to Canter's Kibitz Room to see The Naked & Fat City Reprise.

Oh and a big THANK YOU to everyone who came out on Monday to the High Voltage night at Safari Sam's. We had a lot of fun.

London, err, PBS Calling

This March, PBS stations nationwide will premiere The Clash Live:
Revolution Rock, a new documentary film chronicling live performances from the iconic punk pioneers at the peak of their powers. This performance will be a preview of the April 15th DVD release.

The Clash Live: Revolution Rock DVD follows the live transformation of the band, incorporating footage from all phases of The Clash's meteoric career, beginning with live-in-the-studio clips from 1979, through triumphant concerts from clubland (London's The Music Machine, 1978) and theatres (The Lyceum, 1978, 1980), climaxing with a transcendent blow-out performance at New York's Shea Stadium in 1982. The DVD also includes rare footage of the band’s performance on The Tom Snyder Show and on ABC’s Fridays.

Mark your calendars as this is something you won't want to miss!

Ronson Just Does It

Mark Ronson covers Radiohead's "Just" while using Alex Greenwald from Phantom Planet's voice box (and wicked camera stare downs). Makes you wanna boogie a little bit.

Mark is a busy man. He's also revamped The Smiths' "Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before" with a dash of Motown featuring Daniel Merriweather. Bold move, friend. Bold.

Excellently executed.

"U R A Fever" by The Kills

The Kills are bringing it back — all the way back to 1965. Their new video for single "U R A Fever" is like the Mod Squad on LSD and it doesn't get much better than that!

Make sure to see these kids live in the flesh when and where you can as their heroin chic love never fails to excite. — Jill Wierenga
